The famous Monaco Grand Prix F1 hairpin turn is located in front of the Fairmont Hotel in Monaco. What makes this turn unique from any other turn in F1 is that the race cars need to slow down to about 33 MPH in order to navigate the turn. If a driver goes to fast, he risks crashing into a barrier or crashing into a fellow racer. For spectatators who watch the race from either the rooftop of the Fairmont Hotel or one of its balconies facing the hairpin turn, it is quite an enjoyable view and a great opportuity to take amazing photos and videos. In other viewing locations on the track, the race cars do travel much faster and it is hard to truly appreciate the magnificense of the race cars when they are whizzing past you in speeds often approaching 200 MPH. Although in Monaco, the top speed does not quite reach 200 MPH, more like closer to 180 MPH, it is still hard to get good pictures and videos with conventional cameras and smartphone cameras. Enjoy the attached video, not much has changed over the years on the Monaco F1 hairpin turn except the size of the cars. Unfortunately, the Monaco F1 track cannot change in size since they are city streets, but the race cars have gotten bigger over the years making it quite difficult to pass during the race.
