Meet Mark Landis, a self admitted lonely man who suffers from schizophrenia who has taken the art world by storm and is now the star of a documentary, “Art and Craft” which documents his exploits as a master forger.\u00a0 He is able to go to Hobby Lobby and WalMart and buy the art supplies he needs to create his forgeries which he later “donates” to museums using elaborate disguises such as a Jesuit Priest or wealthy philanthropist.\u00a0 Is it a crime?\u00a0 Not necessarily because he is not selling the art work so they are merely copies and not considered forgeries.\u00a0 Why does he do it?\u00a0 He certainly does not receive any monetary compensation as he gives away the art for free, but he loves getting the attention and being treated as a big shot bestowing his benevolence upon museum art curators.\u00a0 Now, his art forgery days are over, but he is enjoying his newfound fame and now get paid to create his art and has showcased his forgeries in an exhibit.\u00a0 No crime, no foul.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
