Martin Shkreli (pronounced skreli, the “h” is silent) was arrested for his involvement in an alleged Ponzi Scheme whereby he was bilking Retrophin, a biopharmaceuticals company he had started in order to pay the bad debts of a hedge fund he had started called MSMB Capital Management.  The news quickly sent internet trolls and armchair activists into a frenzy of glee because Mr. Shkreli was also the same guy (former CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals) who bought the rights to make Daraprin, a life saving medication for HIV patients, and immediately price gouged the $13.50 per pill price to $750, a 4,000+ percent increase.
