The Black Hornet Nano drone which drew its inspiration from insects was developed by Norway’s, Prox Dynamics AS in Oslo for military purposes. Weighing approximately 3 sheets of paper (or 16 grams) with a flight time of 20 minutes, it becomes inaudible at about 20 meters up in the air. The micro drone is used by UK’s Brigade Reconnaissance Forces in Afghanistan for surveillance purposes and to keep soldiers from harms way. The Black Hornet Nano (PV100) is quite a feat in nano technology with a gyroscope, cameras, motors, and gears are packed into a tiny man made looking insect with a propeller.
